Mass Effect Andromeda Pre-Release Xbox One FPS Test Shows Some Hiccups

Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda is one of the most anticipated games of 2017. There is a lot of hype surrounding the game and here we have the pre-release Mass Effect Andromeda Xbox One FPS test to give you an idea of how well the game runs on the console.

We have noted that the FPS drop is frequent and in places where you would not expect. The FPS will drop down to 26 in cutscenes even.

It is odd that the FPS does not drop when you are running around the tempest but there will be drops in cutscenes and while jumping around. There are also notable drops when fighting off enemies.

It is hard to say that the gameplay is smooth and locked at 30 FPS as there are occasional drops here and there.

I would like to say that the FPS drop are not significant and you will not feel them when in the game but the jitters are very prominent and unless you are playing games for the first time this is something that will be obvious.

Luckily this is not the final version of the game and is a pre-release which means that there could be a day one patch that will fix this issue. The console gaming community accounts for a major part of gamers and it would be unfair for them if the game is like this when it comes out.

I am sure this issue can be fixed easily and the performance can be made better, however, this is not something that we have seen for the first time when it comes to Frostbite Engine games.
