NieR Automata Creative Director Explains Why Protagonist 2B Wears High Heels

NieR Automata has launched with great critical reception and players are enjoying every second of it. The game is set is thousands of years in the future and yet the game’s protagonist YoRHa 2B wears heels which surprisingly does not affect her combat abilities. Now, game’s Creative Director has explained why she wears high heels.

During a panel at PAX East(via Dualshockers) NieR: Automata Creative Director Yoko Taro was asked why YoRHa 2B wears high heels. To this, he gave an interesting answer.

According to Yoko Taro, the game is set 10,000 years in the future so he tried to imagine what it would be like. He added that he thought about how the people 10,000 years ago would not have been able to imagine what it would be like nowadays, and that is why he decided to think freely and willfully about it.

However, according to Yoko Taro, the biggest reason for 2B wearing high heels in NieR Automata is very simple, which is that Yoko Taro just really likes girls.

But the biggest reason is that I just really like girls.

Xbox One owners will not able to enjoy NieR Automata since it is a PC and PlayStation 4 exclusive and Platinum Games has explained why NieR: Automata is not coming to Xbox One. According to the developer, the market for Xbox One is not much big in Japan.

However, Platinum Games has said that the Xbox One version of the game is still under consideration and will be released, only if the game sales well for PC and PlayStation 4.

NieR Automata is an action-adventure RPG developed by Platinum Games for PC and PlayStation 4.
