A recent leaked Destiny video might have just shown us the cinematic intro to the Vex DLC that we never got in the game, but whether we’ll eventually get anything out of it remains to be seen, even if Destiny 2 is supposed to come out this year, according to Activision.

The video isn’t much to look at in terms of any gameplay; instead it appears to show Vex being…built, for lack of a better term. We’re shown Goblins being assembled, the Vex’s trademark milky white liquid being poured into them before they’re fully assembled and their eyes turn on, while they rise out of what looks like a pool of water.

The leaked Destiny video is about as comprehensible as everything else the Vex do, as they’re one of the most mysterious factions in the Milky Way due to their ability to manipulate time, space, and matter, seen likely nowhere better than the Vault of Glass where the Vex were apparently attempting to weaponize time itself.

The footage doesn’t appear to have any sort of narration around it, so if it was supposed to be part of a Vex DLC, we don’t know what it might be about. The three expansions that Destiny got were mainly focused on the Fallen and Hive, in the form of The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron.

While these all brought a variety of new mechanics and missions that made Destiny from a mediocre game into a great one, there’s still no telling what Destiny 2 might have in store.

Bungie may even still use the leaked Destiny video as grounds for a Vex DLC in the sequel, and hopefully we’ll get some emphasis not only on the Vex, but also on the Cabal, considering how important they were in The Taken King’s story.
