Xbox Head Responds to Overwatch Director’s Stance on Mouse-Keyboard Support on Consoles

Recently, game director for Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, commented on the mouse and keyboard support for consoles and asked the console manufacturers to either disallow it or support it openly and also encouraged the community to raise their concern to the console manufacturers.

Now Xbox head Phil Spencer has responded by admitting that mouse and keyboard do give an advantage in some situations and added that he wants to put tools in the hands of the developers and let them do what works best for their game.

Overwatch game director objected to the use of mouse and keyboard on the consoles and added that the studio has reached out to the console manufacturers to express their concern.

While PlayStation 4 and Xbox One do not officially support mouse and keyboard but there are workarounds through which users have found a way to use them. However, Phil Spencer previously has hinted towards the official mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One.
