When the game is launched the majority of the development team is assigned to other projects while a small number of devs work on the game’s upcoming updates and DLC. However, Square Enix is taking a different approach as 70% of the Final Fantasy XV development team is still working on the game and the team has planned a year of content for it.

Speaking with Dualshockers, game director Hajime Tabata explained that 70% of the development team of the game within Business Division 2 is still working on the updates and DLC for Final Fantasy XV while the 30% of the team have moved on to other projects.

He added that of the 70%, part of the devs is working on the updates for the game, part is working on the DLCs and part of the devs is working on the VR experience based on Final Fantasy XV.

This shows the Square Enix’s dedication to the game and it also bodes well for the quality of the upcoming DLCs.

Hajime Tabata also added that the team plans to support the game as long as possible but currently the studio has planned a year of content for Final Fantasy XV.

Square is a vast and beautiful open-world game but fans were somewhat disappointed that players can’t take control of Regalia instead it is just auto-piloted to the desired destination. However, Square Enix has confirmed the off-road Regalia that will allow players to freely drive around in the world, but it’s still in development and is currently unknown when it will arrive.

Final Fantasy XV is an open world action-adventure game developed by Square Enix for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
