FlatOut 4: Total Insanity Announced For March Release On Xbox One, PS4
Apparently, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity, the latest entry in the extreme driving FlatOut video game series, will be releasing in March for the Xbox One and the Playstation 4. The game was announced today by the developer Kylotonn (or rather, re-announced, since it was first announced in 2015) and will be published by Strategy First.
Previously, the FlatOut series had been created by BugBear Studios. However, with that studio currently working on the racing game Wreckfest, which was first announced in 2013 and entered early access but should be getting a full release sometime this year.
The FlatOut series has been around since 2010 and has managed to make a wide variety of fairly well-reviewed games, though their last offering, FlatOut 3, was critically panned (getting 1 out of 10 rankings from a wide variety of different reviewers). With that in mind, hopefully Kylotonn is going to end up making the games good again.
The studio has already promised that FlatOut 4: Total Insanity will include a number of fan-favorite modes from previous FlatOut games, such as Stunt mode, where you catapult the driver of your car through the windshield for points. In addition to six of the “classic” stunt varieties, the studio will be adding in six new stunts for player to try.
The game will have 27 cars to choose from, once again mixing fan favorites with new vehicles for players to crash (and even, oddly enough, a rocket-powered ice cream van). All of these cars will be racing on 20 different tracks, which include everything from traditional racing to time trials, arenas, and assault levels.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity has already put out a trailer for it ahead of its release next month, so if you’re interested in the game you can take a look at the trailer and see for yourself if the game looks like something you want to buy.
