Nintendo has tried providing free online multiplayer during the last decade, but things will change with Nintendo Switch. During the presentation of this console, in fact, the company has claimed that players will have to pay a monthly fee in order to play online.

However there’s no need to worry about the price. When talking with The Nikkei, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has officially stated that Nintendo Switch Online service price will be around $17–$26 a year, very low if compared to PS Plus and Xbox Live.
