During an investors conference call today, Bioware publisher EA talked about Mass Effect studio’s new IP that will be coming out next year. Word has it that the Bioware IP has been in development since 2012. According to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, the Bioware IP will not be an RPG game but an action adventure game instead. He did say that there will be character development and story progression so not all elements of RPG are gone.

Keeping in mind that we have not even heard of this game, a years time is not much. BioWare’s Aaryn Flynn said that there will be more information shared regarding the game in the upcoming months and we are going to keep track of what to expect from this upcoming Bioware IP.

“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay. Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends.”

It seems that the game was revealed at GDC last year in a manner that it slipped under our noses, so to speak. I doubt that if there was something significant and no one noticed. People tend to have eagle vision at these events.

Still, we have confirmation that there is a new Bioware IP coming out next year and it will be different in some ways and similar to older titles in other ways. The game is said to be coming out on 31st March 2018.

Right now the next upcoming game from Bioware is Mass Effect Andromeda, which will be coming out on the 21st of March 2017. It is one of the must-play games of the year and I hope it meets our expectations. What do you think the next Bioware IP is?
