The AMD financial report states as follows:

AMD introduced preliminary details of its forthcoming Vega GPU architecture designed to address the most data- and visually-intensive next-generation workloads. Key architecture advancements include a differentiated memory subsystem, next-generation geometry pipeline, new compute engine, and a new pixel engine. GPU products based on the Vega architecture are expected to ship in the second quarter of 2017.

For those who thought that they would be able to get their hands on the new AMD Vega GPUs early 2017, sorry for the disappointment but it is what it is. What this means is that we can expect a launch by May, at the soonest that that is. Launched could be later on but May is a good guess from how I see things.

Although there are no clear indications, the GTX 1080Ti might come out by then, so we will be able to see how the high-end AMD Vega GPUs perform as compared to the GTX 1080Ti as well as the GTX 1080 and Titan XP.

The good thing here is that we at least have an approximated date from AMD. This is a vague statement but at least we know something directly from the source. The have been getting rumors for some time now and I think that we can wait some more.

It will be interesting to see how AMD Vega holds up against the high-end GPUs from Nvidia and how the upcoming Ryzen chip will make a splash in the CPU market. Intel should be on its toes by now if it was not already. Let us know what you think about AMD Vega and Ryzen.
