The biggest bummer for GPU enthusiasts of the XFX Radeon RX 480 Patriot Edition GPU is that the product is not listed for sale. Of course, this will bug the most to those guys who like to throw some dollars and get a hardware. But, for the real PC enthusiasts, who like to venture and create something of their own, they will buy a hard swap version of RX 480. It was XFX who did the first hard swap of Radeon RX 480, put some LEDs and it also came out with detachable fans. Technically, there is no point of making a Patriot Edition of RX 480 if you have already done the hard swap of RX 480, Check out the image below.
However, to those who are too lazy to do a hard swap of their own or not interested in already hard swapped version of RX 480 by XFX can go for the Patriot Edition. A Consumer can get its hands on the product by means of a lottery and only if he/she wins. Of course, by the requirements of US Law, a person can fill in a single application for Lucky Draw and he/she must be above 18 years. The Lucky Draw entry is restricted to US citizens also.
The card overall looks beautiful with blue and red LEDs covering the two fans of the GPU, highlighting the hardware sitting inside in gorgeous representation of colors. The choice of white, red and blue LEDs highlights the colors of United States of America’s flags, for obvious reasons, hence called XFX Radeon RX 480 Patriot Edition GPU.
