Bioware has been revealing new details about their upcoming game, Mass Effect Andromeda and now the developer has shared some new details revealing some new game mechanics and more.

The info comes from the latest issue of PC Gamer magazine(via Reddit). According to Bioware, the dodge roll has been replaced with dash for a fast paced action, there are three types of planets and more.

  • dodge roll has been replaced with a dash, useful for getting from cover to cover, this is conjunction with being able to jump makes for fast mobile combat. you can aim mid-jump to activate a slow hover that is useful for setting up combo’s.
  • renegade/paragon system has been replaced with a 4 chat option, head,casual,heart and professional giving me choice in the personality of your ryder.
  • there are apparently different types of planets i.e. 1 type is a story planet, this planet is one mainly consisting of open exploration and side quests. Planets also have environmental hazards like those seen in no man’s sky i.e. radiation, too hot and too cold.
  • the nomad was partially designed and tested by a small team from need for speed, take this as you will.

Mass Effect Andromeda will be supporting PS4 Pro so it is natural that gamers are wondering will it also support the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio. According to game director, Mac Walters, the game could come to the console one day.

Mass Effect Andromeda is an action-adventure RPG in development at Bioware and is scheduled to launch on March 21, 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
