Reggie: Nintendo Has History Of Making Smart Choices, We’ll Do It Again With Nintendo Switch
Last week during the Nintendo Switch Presentation, Nintendo revealed the launch line-up and price for the upcoming console. Since then the console has been in the news for both good and bad reasons. While many are not happy with Nintendo’s approach for its next console but the company is very confident that it has made the right choice.
Speaking with Time, Reggie Fils-Aime revealed the company’s secret for its success. According to Reggie, Nintendo has a history of making the smart choice and they will do it again with Nintendo Switch.
That is the Nintendo history. We make smart choices, and we are oftentimes lucky. The decision to hire Mr. Miyamoto — we were lucky. The decision by Mr. Miyamoto to create Donkey Kong as a replacement to an arcade game that was failing in the marketplace was on one hand brilliant, to ask him to do it, but we were lucky that it was Donkey Kong, and that it was successful. What we are working hard to do, is to make smart choices with Nintendo Switch, and once again be fortunate that the marketplace responds in a positive way.
It is an interesting take on the situation but we will have to wait and see how it turns out and if Nintendo really made a smart decision with Nintendo Switch.
For those who want to try out the new console, can do it next month but for that, you will have to travel to Japan. Nintendo has announced that the upcoming console will be available and playable during the upcoming Tokaigi Japan Game Party 2017. The event will be held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo, from February 11 to February 12.
Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3, 2017, and will be priced at $299.99 in the US.
