Intel HD Graphics 630 Performance, Testing i7-7700K Without DGPU
Although PC enthusiast may think that testing the gaming performance of the Intel HD Graphics 630 would be a stupid idea I know that there are people out there that do not have a dedicated GPU or are saving up for one and have integrated graphics in the meantime.
If you were wondering how powerful the Intel HD Graphics 630 are and which games you can play with the integrated Intel graphics then you have come to the right place as we are going to talk about just that.
Intel HD Graphics 630 Test Bench
This is just for the fun of it as it is unlikely that you will buy a $350 CPU and not have a GPU to compliment it especially if you are a gamer. The following is the test bench used for these tests:
CPU: Core i7-7700K
Mobo: MSI Z270 Gaming M7
RAM: Corsair DDR4-3200
SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 2TB
Case: Corsair Carbide Air 740
PSU: Corsair RM650x
Cooling: Corsair H115i
Intel HD Graphics 630 Gaming Performance Numbers
Ashes of the Singularity
No matter how low you turn the settings down this game is simply not playable without a dedicated GPU. With the Intel HD Graphics 620 you will get 13.5 average FPS and 7 minimum FPS. The game is far from playable so do not try and give it a go if you have integrated graphics.
It is interesting to see that you can play battlefield at very low settings at 720p. It will not be an ideal experience but if you are looking to get through the game on integrated graphics then it can be done. Expect 36 average FPS and 27 minimum FPS.
Not that the game runs perfect but you can play the game just fine if you have some patience. You will be able to get 29 average FPS and 24 minimum FPS.
Fallout 4 is also kind of playable, the integrated graphics manage to push out 30 average FPS and 21 minimum FPS.
You can play GTA V pretty well on integrated graphics. If you decide to do expect 46 average FPS and 29 minimum FPS. Most of the time the game will be above the 30 FPS mark but there will be occasional dips now and then.
Overwatch is playable at the low setting, 720p with 100% render scaling. You will be getting decent 54 average FPS and 44 minimum FPS so that is pretty good.
