Tekken 7 Might Be Skipping “Early 2017” Release Window
A recent finding suggests that we might end up seeing the release date of Tekken 7 get pushed out of the early 2017 window.
Last night, an official Bandai Namco live-stream on Twitch listed the release dates for some of its upcoming games. Tekken 7 has for long been penned by the publisher for an “early 2017” release. The stream, however, listed the upcoming fighting game for simply “2017”.
Even more worrying is the fact that the list was organized in an ascending manner, with the closest release dates mentioned first. Tekken 7 was listed beyond spring 2017, further suggesting that the game might be getting delayed to summer 2017.

It’s been almost a year since the new installment was released in Japan. The western console release is still without a release date. Based on previous promises from the developer, Tekken 7 should be releasing before March. However, it’s unnerving that we are approaching the end of January and there’s still no confirmation on a release date.
The Taipei International Game Show (IGS) is scheduled to exhibit Tekken 7 between January 19-24. It’s safe to say that Bandai Namco has been holding on to an announcement just for this event. We’re definitely hearing about the game’s release date this week, but from the current perspective the news might not be great for western fans.
Tekken 7 is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this year. This will be the first time that a major Tekken installment graces the PC platform. While fans may act wary of the Windows 10 logo, know that the game is already listed on Steam. It’s unlikely that it will be secluded to the Windows 10 Store.
