Diablo 3 on PS4 Pro Uses Dynamic Resolution; All the Changes Detailed
Diablo 3 received update 2.4.3 last week which added 4K support for PS4 Pro and its 20TH anniversary celebrations content.
While Blizzard did not provide a whole lot of details on changes brought to the game via update 2.4.3, we now know exactly what changes, thanks to DigitalFoundry.
Diablo 3 PS4 Pro Patch
According to the analysis, the game does not run on solid 4K and instead uses dynamic resolution from 1080p up to 2160p with the goal of providing a smooth 60 frames per second experience. When there is little going on the screen or when the players are inside indoor areas, they get native 4K resolution.
Despite the dynamic resolution, the game overall looks much prettier than the standard PS4 version.
In addition to resolution, there are some noticeable improvements made to Ambient Occlusion, Bloom Effects, and more. Lastly, if you do not own a 4K display, you will get the same dynamic resolution; supersampled for your display.

As a part of Diablo’s 20TH anniversary celebrations, players can participate in The Darkening of Tristram. The DoT is essentially a recreation of hellish Cathedral from the original Diablo in Reaper of Souls.
The event basically teleports players back in time to encounter enemies like The Butcher and earn new loot/rewards during the process. One of the coolest things about the Darkening of Tristram is a graphics filter that Blizzard employed to give Diablo 3 a pixelated look.
We have detailed everything you need to know about the event and how to find every secret found in it. To find out more, head over to the post!
