World of Warcraft patch 7.1.5

The highly anticipated World of Warcraft patch 7.1.5 is finally launching tomorrow, 10th January after the usual Tuesday maintenance.

While the patch might be an incremental update as a mid-point before the major 7.2 update, it still adds in a lot of new content to the latest Legion expansion.

As mentioned earlier, the World of Warcraft patch 7.1.5 will bring back The Brawler’s Guild and also add in a new Overwatch parody mode. Players take up arms against various bosses in the guild, while the difficulty keeps increasing as they progress.

Currently, the Overwatch characters Winston, Junkrat and McCree are known to be available as enemy bosses.

Another big update coming in the patch is the update to Timewalking dungeons. This time, the World of Warcraft patch 7.1.5 will add in Mists of Pandaria content to Timewalking, adding in new rewards and challenges for Legion level players but set in Mists of Pandaria.

For the first time since the starting of Timewalking feature, the bonus events will now also include pets as rewards.

The last major inclusion in the update is something called micro-holidays. According to Blizzard, they will be marked on the player calendars prior to their start similar to other holiday events such as Darkmoon Faire.

The first event will be called Call of the Scarab and will run from 21st to 23rd January, to commemorate the first ringing of the Scarab Gong from back in 2006 in Ahn’Qiraj.

At least seven more similar micro-holiday events will follow and continue till August.

Full patch notes for the update aren’t available yet but hopefully Blizzard will release them tomorrow as the servers go down for maintenance and patch deployment.

From the overview video released, the World of Warcraft patch 7.1.5 aims to “improve overall class balance while also making each spec more fun to play and allowing for more diverse talent choices”
