As Blizzard demonstrated at BlizzCon 2016, they have no plans to abandon Diablo 3 just yet and have vowed to continue to release more content for the game. The recent Diablo 3 patch 2.4.3 also pays homage to the first Diablo game, as part of the franchise’s 20th Anniversary.

The Diablo 3 patch 2.4.3 adds a time limited dungeon from the first game, with a retro visual filter for that nostalgic look. The dungeon has 16 main floors and is fairly easy to finish on normal difficulty in little over an hour.

While players can finish the dungeon with an already existing character, they will miss out on the Butcher pet reward if they do so.

In order to earn the Butcher pet from Diablo 3 patch 2.4.3, players need to complete the dungeon with a new hero, irrespective of the difficulty.

The dungeon can easily be accessed through the portal in New Tristram which sends players back in time into Tristram’s past. Since it is a time limited event, the dungeon will only be available to play through during the month of January.

The 20th Anniversary event has started with the release of Diablo 3 patch 2.4.3 which brings with it various quality of life improvements to the game as well as tweaks and balances.

Some of the newly added items in the game include a Red Soulstone Shard as a new legendary gem and Talisman of Akkhan for Crusader.

The Adventure Mode, from where players can access the dungeon that rewards Butcher pet, has also seen some tweaks including reduced number of kills to complete Bounties such as Kill Sloysius, Kill Bholen and kill Axegrave.

The Diablo 20th Anniversary Event, dubbed The Darkening of Tristram is available to play now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One for those who have Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.
