Shuhei Yoshida Talks About PlayStation 4 Pro Reception And Its Evolution
Digitalspy had the chance to talk to Sony Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida, who discussed PlayStation 4 Pro reception, PS VR and Nintendo.
In the first part of the interview, Yoshida has stressed the fact the PS4 Pro sales are going very well worldwide and they did meet Sony’s expectations. This console has really impressed the crowd and everyone who is buying PS4 for the first time is choosing PS4 Pro (sold out in many markets).
Even PS VR had a similar reception. Before its release, Sony thought that people were not going to spend a lot of time with it. However, data taken from the company shows that users are playing for many hours consecutively with PS VR even if there aren’t so many titles for this platform yet.
After that, Yoshida talked about Nintendo, praising Nintendo Switch and the ability of this company to handle with the mobile market, something that also Sony is interested in.
But at the current state, Sony is focused on the home console market.
Besides PlayStation 4 Pro reception, this console is suffering performance issues when running some games.
According to Eurogamer, games like The Last Of Us, Skyrim Special Edition and Mantis Burn Racing run smoother on base PlayStation 4.
The website explains that frame-skipping with 4K mode on can be understood, but it’s not good that this console suffers even when switching to 1080p.
This is probably related to support patches poor made.
Also games that didn’t receive PS4 Pro patch have some problems.
World Of Final Fantasy is one of them, as players are reporting strange textures and crash issues.
The best thing you can do right now is hope that these problems will be fixed.
