The Last OF US 2 Gets A Westworld Writer, Bruce Straley Not Returning To Direct
Fans of The Last Of Us could not be any more excited as Naughty Dog has finally revealed The Last Of Us 2 during the PlayStation Experience. However, the devs are not done by just revealing the game, they have also revealed the writer for the game and confirmed that Bruce Straley is not returning.
Neil Druckmann, who also directed the Uncharted 4, confirmed through his twitter account that Halley Gross will be co-writing The Last Of US 2. Halley Gross is known for her work on the hit HBO series, Westworld.
Halley’s my kickass co-writer. Can’t wait to share more of the story with y’all. Spoiler alert: it’s intense.
However, Bruce Straley, who has worked on most of the Naughty Dog titles and also directed The Last Of Us, will not be returning to direct the sequel. Sony confirmed in a statement to Kotaku, that Straley is taking much deserved time off.
Bruce recently decided to take some much deserved time off after shipping two critically acclaimed games in the last few years. He’s looking forward to returning to the studio soon and jumping back in on his next project.
Straley has been with the naughty Dog for two decades and in addition to The Last Of Us, he also directed the Uncharted 4 after longtime director Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog has also revealed the story DLC for Uncharted 4, The Lost Legacy. The content was not only surprising due to its setting but also its characters. The Lost Legacy will follow the story of none-other than Cloe and Nadine Ross.
