The Last Guardian is scheduled to launch next week and fans are excited to get their hands on the game. While the game has been in development for almost 8 years there is still a huge fan following for the game, as The Last Guardian Pre-Orders have exceeded the expectations.

Speaking with MCV, Sony’s product manager Joe Palmer revealed The Last Guardian Pre-Orders have exceeded the expectations of the company.

I can’t comment on specific details, but I can say that pre-orders for The Last Guardian are exceeding expectations. We’ve seen a really positive response to the Collector’s Edition in particular, which despite its higher price point proves there’s a huge appetite for the game.

He further added that right now Sony’s concern is to meet the expectations of gamers after such a long development cycle.

“When you’re working on a game that has such incredibly high levels of expectation, it’s impossible not to consider the pressure of meeting player expectations,” Palmer added. “We’ve tried to avoid fuelling the hype by playing on the fact that people have been waiting a long time for this. We want people to be excited because the game looks incredible, not because of its complicated development story.

The file size for The Last Guardian has also been revealed and the game requires a minimum of 15 GB on the hard drive which is way lower compared to the current industry standards.

Recently, Sony published a video showcasing The Last Guardian unboxing of the Collector’s Edition. In The Last Guardian unboxing video, we see PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman and PlayStation Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida as they discuss how excited they are for the game.

The Last Guardian is an action-adventure game developed by Team ICO and will launch on December 6, 2016 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
