Red Dead Redemption Playstation Now Coming Next Week

A Red Dead Redemption Playstation Now port is coming next week to the Playstation 4, after the Xbox One got a backwards compatible version in July.

Since Rockstar’s smash hit Western Red Dead Redemption came out on the Xbox One backwards compatibility system in July, it makes sense that Sony would be trying to catch up to them. Now, a Red Dead Redemption Playstation Now port will finally be available for Playstation owners, so they too can have more adventures with John Marston.

The Red Dead Redemption Playstation Now port will contain both the original Red Dead Redemption game and its Halloween expansion pack Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, which focuses on John Marston attempting to cure his family of zombie-ism as zombies rampage through southern Texas and northern Mexico.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the most popular games of the last generation, selling over 12 million copies and being popular enough that people were waiting for a sequel for six years until it was finally announced late in October. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming out on Xbox One and Playstation 4 in the fall of next year.

Playstation Now is the Sony version of the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility service, though unlike the Xbox One’s version Playstation Now requires a subscription and you rent the games that you play for a certain amount of money. The Xbox One version is not only free, but also only requires you to either re-buy the backwards compatible version of the game or to have the original disc of the game you want to play, which you can install for free.

However, considering how good of a game that Red Dead Redemption is, the Red Dead Redemption Playstation Now port is likely a worthwhile investment if you have a Playstation 4 and have been wanting to play it again ahead of the Red Dead Redemption 2 release. Considering how much you can do in the game, it’ll likely keep you busy for a good amount of time before the sequel comes out.
