Watch Dogs 2 Errors, Performance, Crashes and Their Fixes

#1 Watch Dogs 2 Poor Performance Fix
Like many other AAA games, major GPU manufacturers (Nvidia/AMD) have released new drivers that optimize the performance for Watch Dogs 2. So if you are facing any performance issues, you should update your GPU drivers first.

If that doesn’t fix the issue and you are using SLI/crossfire, try running the game on single card. Some GTX users have reported that they are facing issues with SLI. Laptop users should make sure that their machines are plugged in and they are using the dedicated GPU to run the game.

It goes without saying that if your PC is struggling at high settings, you should turn down the graphics settings to boost the performance.

#2 Watch Dogs 2 Crashes on External Drive
If your game is being crashed and it’s installed on an external hard drive then you should try installing it in the internal drive (default steam directory recommended). It’s not a permanent fix but for some users, this seems to have done the trick.

#3 Watch Dogs 2 Low FPS on All Resolutions
There are a couple of things you should try to fix this problem. First, if you are running any third party applications in the background like Afterburner, disable them. If you are using an overclocked GPU, try using the default clock values. Also, if you are running the game in windowed mode, try switching to full screen mode as it seems to have fixed the issue for some.

#4 Watch Dogs 2 Error – Dotlical DLL Redirection Detected
If you are experiencing this error, the issue is most probably related to EasyAntiCheat tool. Here, you can find a couple of fixes that should resolve your issue.

#5 Watch Dogs 2 – Game Freezes on Startup
If you can’t get past the initial screen, you should try running the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Also, make sure that you are running the game, ubisoft launcher and Steam with admin privileges.

#6 Watch Dogs 2 Poor FPS Fix for Windows 10 Users
If you are a Windows 10 user and you have already tried all the general troubleshooting and still getting poor FPS, you should disable the Game DVR. Disabling this tool could fix your performance issue.

#7 Watch Dogs 2 Textures Pack Issue
Currently, it’s a known issue that the Ultra textures pack does not show as installed. So if you want to be sure whether it’s installed or not, you could check it from your graphics settings (it should show Ultra Textures option).

#8 Watch Dogs 2 Mirror Mode Crash
If your system is setup in mirror mode, you should try this workaround to fix the problem.
