Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has teased that an announcement will soon be made regarding something the fans will definitely enjoy.

Randy Pitchford announced through his Twitter account that Gearbox will be making an announcement on December 1, 2016, but did not revealed what the announcement will be about.

When asked to give an hint about the announcement, Pitchford said that all will be revealed on December 1.

The studio might be announcing Borderlands 3 as the studio confirmed the game at PAX East. Scott Kester who is the art director for Battleborn said that he will be the art director for Borderlands 3. Pitchford added “We don’t even know if we’re going to call it that. We could call it Borderlands 4 for all we know”.

Cheif creative champion at Gearbox Mikey Neumann, who also did the voice work for Scooter in Borderlands 2, will be filling the writer’s shoes for the game. He also added that he has come up with a new character for the game that might be included in the final product.

I did this whole Scooter thing, then I pitch-shifted it up like seven semitones so it sounds like a chipmunk and it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard.

Currently, no other details like which platform it will be available for or the release window are known.

So what do you think the announcement could be about? Will it be Borderlands 3 or something else? Let us know in the comments.
