Assassins Creed Syndicate PS4 Pro Patch Released To Add 4K Support
With the launch of Sony’s new console, Ubisoft has also joined the ranks of companies updating their games for the 4K capable console by releasing an Assassins Creed Syndicate PS4 Pro patch.
While the company hadn’t made any prior mention of releasing an Assassins Creed Syndicate PS4 Pro patch, it released a new patch, update 1.5, today which enables extra functionality for the newer hardware.
As of right now, the only change which fans have noticed in the game so far seems to be the bump in resolution which now supports 4K.
A thread on NeoGaf is constantly being updated as players look for any more changes to the game.
The launch of an Assassins Creed Syndicate PS4 Pro patch however doesn’t necessarily mean the game will automatically start looking amazing, even though it is in itself a decent looking title. There are some reports which suggest that after the 4K patch, the game actually ends up looking worse than before.
A reason for that could be due to a simple upscaling of the resolution while the base textures and assets remain at a lower resolution.
Ubisoft hasn’t officially made any announcement or shared details regarding the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate PS4 Pro patch but hopefully they will share words soon.
Considering the recent launch and controversy surrounding the remastered Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection, Ubisoft needs to ensure they don’t lose any further goodwill by releasing a half-baked PS4 Pro patch for Syndicate, which surprisingly received decent reviews but failed to make much money compared to previous games.
While there has been no official word from Ubisoft, the possibility of the next Assassin’s Creed game being named Empire and set in Ancient Egypt is becoming more likely after some recent leaks. One such leak was from Ubisoft’s very own Watch Dogs 2 which was released recently.
