Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Double XP Weekend Announced Today
Activision and Infinity Ward have announced a Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare double XP weekend today, which will allow players to earn twice as much XP not just for their character accounts, but also for their weaponry. The weekend promotion will end on November 21, next Monday, so you should get started.
Double XP weekends are a standard thing for many first-person shooter games, and Call of Duty is no exception. With the Infinite Warfare double XP weekend, players can earn more experience to get new weapons and gear, as well as level up their guns while they complete new challenges. And since it’s the weekend, you can play as much as you want (unless you’re one of the unfortunate ones that works 7 days a week).
The double XP weekend is likely an attempt to get people away from the multiplayer on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered, which is one of the primary reasons why demand for a remastered or backwards-compatible version of the game was in such high demand. Considering that Infinite Warfare’s been criticized for weak multiplayer despite how good its single player is, the end of the weekend will tell how successful they were.
The Infinite Warfare double Xp weekend might be more appropriate for Modern Warfare Remastered, but it’s likely that it’s not getting one because Activision wants to make sure that Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer has staying power. Considering how low the preorders for Infinite Warfare were, bundling it with Modern Warfare Remastered is probably the best they could do when it comes to ensuring sales.
Either way, if you own the game on Xbox One, Playstation 4, or PC (just make sure you haven’t bought it on the Windows Store otherwise you’ll likely find no one to play with) you can log in and play for the Infinite Warfare double XP weekend and try and make some good progress on your character.
