Scarlett Johansson’s Favorite Game Is Mario Kart, Likes Toad The Best
Ghosts aren’t the only things in shells for Scarlett Johansson, known nowadays as Natasha Romanov (aka Black Widow) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and most recently as Major Makoto Kusanagi from the upcoming Ghost in the Shell movie. For unwinding between movies, though, Scarlett Johansson’s favorite game may surprise you: Mario Kart.
While the actress didn’t disclose exactly which Mario Kart game she liked the best (there are eight to choose from on a variety of consoles), she did bring up which character in the Mario Kart games is her favorite: Toad. Unsurprisingly, she likes him because he’s cute.
Toad is also one of the better characters in Mario Kart, as his small size and therefore small weight makes him extremely maneuverable and very fast. This gives him a significant edge over bigger characters like Bowser, who’s slower (unless he can build up momentum) and less maneuverable.
Scarlett Johansson’s favorite game being Mario Kart (whichever one it is) isn’t really that surprising to be honest: many Nintendo games are designed to be party games, so that anyone that picks one up can get use to the controls almost immediately. While some of the games (like Mario Party, which has been known to destroy civilizations) may not be good for relaxation, Mario Kart may be just what a woman as busy as Scarlet Johansson might need.
If Scarlett Johansson’s favorite game really is Mario Kart, you should probably be on the lookout if you have whichever Mario Kart game that she’s got; you may come across her in one of your races.
Scarlett Johansson’s next movie, Ghost in the Shell, is based off the popular manga by Shirow Masamune, which has been made into multiple anime series and movies. The actual live-action movie will be releasing to theaters on March 31 of next year.
