Nintendo Switch will be available in the market in a matter of months but still there are not much known about the console. While Nintendo has announced dozens of its publishing and developing partners but no third party games have been announced for the console.

However, the main question making rounds on the internet is, will the Xbox One, PS4 and PC games be ported to Nintendo Switch? As Wii U did not have many games released that were available for rival brands.

NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has an answer to that.

During the company’s latest financial call last week he said that Tegra Processor is much similar to what is found in Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and most PCs. So the developers will be able to port their games to Nintendo Switch quite easily.

The quality of games has grown significantly. And one of the factors of production value of games that has been possible is because the PC and the two game consoles, Xbox and PlayStation, and — in the near-future — the Nintendo Switch, all of these architectures are common in the sense that they all use modern GPUs, they all use programmable shading, and they all have basically similar features.

He further added that there will be differences in the processors of Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PCs. But here is the catch, as they vary in capabilities or design they share a common architecture.

As a result of that, game developers can target a much larger installed base with one common code base and, as a result, they can increase the production quality, production value of the games.

Nintendo Switch will launch in March 2017 but no specific date or price has been announced by Nintendo. Further details about the console will be revealed in January.
