Mark Cerny To Reveal New Details About PlayStation 4 Pro This Week
Mark Cerny is to reveal new details about Sony’s upcoming console, PlayStation 4 Pro, this week, according to German YouTube channel Inside PlayStation.
According to the youtube channel, they have been invited to a London media event called ‘Future of Play’, which will take place on November 2-3, and Mark Cerny will reveal more technical details about PlayStation 4 Pro, along with new playable demos for games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Gran Turismo Sport, NIOH and Call of Duty: Warfare Infinite.
Recently, PlayStation 4 Pro’s system architect compared the PlayStation 4 and upcoming PlayStation 4 Pro in terms of size and also indirectly criticized the Xbox One Scorpio. According to Cerny, PlayStation 4 Pro is just 19 percent bigger than the PlayStation 4, which indicates that long running rule of increase in performance is directly proportional to the console’s size is no longer applicable.
He also said that in his own opinion he thinks that 8 TFLOPS is required for a console to run games at true 4K resolution. Since, Microsoft said that PlayStation 4 Pro’s 4.2 TFLOPS of computational power is not enough for true 4K, it seems that their own console will not be able to play games at 4K, as Xbox One Scorpio packs 6 TFLOPS of computational power.
While PS4 Pro will have 4.2 TFLOPS of computational power, but according to Mark Cerny, the console could achieve 8.4 TFLOPS of computational power. However, Microsoft responded to Cerny’s claim by updating their website for Xbox One Scorpio, where the company says that Xbox One Scorpio will be the most powerful console in the world, an the only console capable of true 4K gaming.
