Nintendo Estimates Nintendo Switch Will Ship 2 Million Units By The End Of Fiscal Year

Last Week Nintendo finally revealed its upcoming console, Nintendo Switch, and gamers have shown quite some interest to the console. The announcement of this new console came by end of Nintendo’s end of quarter briefing, and some interesting news came from it.

According to Wall Street Journal journalist Takashi Mochizuki, who posted on his Twitter account that Nintendo’s current year’s guidance estimates that Nintendo Switch will sell 2 million units by the end of their fiscal year in March.

What is interesting is that we still don’t have any specific release date for the console, except that it will launch in March 2017. Also the fiscal year will end on March 31, 2017, so this 2 million mark will have to be achieved within a month.

He further posted that, Nintendo will not be taking a loss from Nintendo Switch, but they are listening to their consumers in terms of what they want when it comes to the price of the console.

Recently, a report emerged on the internet that suggests Nintendo’s upcoming console generated more interest with in the gaming community compared to PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox one Scorpio.

Also Nintendo has clarified that the games shown in the reveal trailer for Nintendo Switch do not represent their game lineup. According to Nintendo, the reason for showcasing the games was to show how their upcoming console works.

Nintendo Switch will launch in March 2017, but no specific release date or price has been announced by Nintendo.
