Remedy is Not Interested in Making An Alan Wake Sequel, Says Phil Spencer
Even if Alan Wake didn’t reach the top of the gaming charts, this game has been loved by a lot of people. There’s been much talking about a possible second chapter, but it seems Remedy is not interested in making an Alan Wake sequel.
For those of you who don’t know this game, Alan Wake is a psychological horror action-adventure video game developed by Remedy Entertainment, released for Xbox 360 and Windows PC in 2010.
The story follows the adventures of the best-selling thriller novelist Alan Wake, who is trying to find what lies behind his wife’s disappearance.
The question regarding a second chapter has been discussed by Phil Spencer during a recent interview with Stevivor, and he said that Remedy is not interested in developing an Alan Wake sequel right now.
One of the reasons behind this choice could be the sales, as this game didn’t sell this much and Remedy may be afraid of releasing another disappointing game, especially after Quantum Break mixed reviews.
So if you want to play new stuff regarding the Alan Wake franchise, you better wait and play the first game in the meantime.
By the way, Remedy is trying new ways and one of these ways is leading to the development of multiplayer based experiences.
It has been announced by Remedy with a recent post on their blog.
We always been focused on single-player games. However, we want to challenge ourselves to find ways to mix these elements with cooperative multiplayer. We will always try to tell stories in the best possible ways, and we want these stories to be shared and elevated through players’ cooperation. We believe that a multiplayer experience combined with Remedy’s unique world-building provides an exceptional result.
