Destiny Update 2.4.1 To Release Tomorrow, To Increase Maximum Light Level
With Destiny’s latest raid, Wrath of the Machine, getting a heroic difficulty mode tomorrow, the Destiny update 2.4.1 will also be going live starting at 10am PDT.
Besides adding a new difficulty mode to the raid that was included in the game with the latest expansion, Rise of Iron, Destiny update 2.4.1 will also be increasing the Maximum Light cap which a player can have up to 400.
Once the light cap gets increased, activity rewards from sources such as Trials of Osiris, Crucible, Iron Banner, Exotic Engrams and Nightfall content will be updated to drop Light level 400 gear. Meanwhile, Archon’s Forge, Legendary Engrams and Heroic SIVA Strike playlists will drop 385 Light gear.
Rare Engrams and the SIVA Strike Playlist will now provide rewards up to 365 Light. The recommended Light for these activities will remain the same with the exception of Nightfall, which will be increased to a recommended light of 380.
This gear update is done in a move to ensure that players have different ways to farm gear, especially if they want to get ready for raiding, and aren’t just stuck with grinding one method for end game gear.
Destiny update 2.4.1 will also be tweaking the reward drop rates. Archon’s Forge completion rewards will now include Artifacts and ghost shells with a chance of 400 Light. Faction packages will also reward Ghosts at a higher rate and frequency of Artefacts being rewarded from Eris’ Faction Packages will increase.
While the patch deployment will begin at 10am Pacific time on 18th October, to ensure that everyone has ample time to download the patch and not be left out of a chance to be the first Fireteam to complete Heroic mode raid, the raid itself will go live at 2PM.
Full patch notes for Destiny update 2.4.1 aren’t available yet but Bungie will most probably be releasing them tomorrow with the patch to include a list of all the other fixes and improvements.
