Red Barrels Confirmed Outlast 2 Support For PS4 Pro, Also Detailed The Enhancements
Many developers have confirmed PlayStation 4 Pro support for their upcoming games, and developer Red Barrels has also announced that Outlast 2 will be available for PlayStation 4 Pro, and also detailed the enhancements the game will be getting on the upcoming console.
Speaking with Playstationlifestyle, Red Barrels President, Philippe Morin, confirmed that Outlast 2 will be playable on PlayStation 4 Pro, and the upcoming horror survival games will be taking full advantage of the extra power of the console.
Yes it will. It will have higher shadow quality, higher quality texture filtering and more detailed meshes. That’s what we have so far, but we’re still working on some improvements.
While most of the games will be upscaled to 4K on PlayStation 4 Pro, but there will be some games that will run at native 4K resolution on the console. Recently, 2K Games confirmed that NBA 2K17 will run at native 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
According to 2K, the NBA 2K17 will also render on 4K for the 1080p display, as this will result in a better image quality with anti-aliasing and HDR.
There is no doubt that PlayStation 4 Pro will be directly competing with Microsoft’s Xbox One Scorpio, which is scheduled to launch on Holiday 2017. However, some Xbox executives don’t think that PlayStation 4 Pro is not powerful enough to do 4K.
According to Xbox planning exec Albert Penello, there are a lot of caveats around Sony claim of 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro, as it is not true 4K but and upscale technique has been used.
Outlast 2 is a first person survival horror games in development at Red Barrels Studio, and will release sometime in 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
