Resident Evil 7 Demo Will Get Another Update, Game Will Not Feature Any Online Mode
For a franchise known for its third person survival horror gameplay, it is interesting to see that Capcom has taken a new spin on the franchise with Resident Evil 7 as the game will feature a first person perspective. While the demo for the game has already seen an update that includes a new area for players to explore, it seems that Capcom is not done yet with the demo.
Speaking with YugaTech, Resident Evil 7 producer, Masachika Kawata, confirmed that the developers would like to bring the demo for the game to other platforms, and also revealed that the developers plan to update the demo for PlayStation 4, so that players can try other aspects of the game.
We do plan to update the demo on PSN for the players to experience the other aspects of the game. We don’t have a fixed date [for the release], but it will definitely be out before the game comes out.
He also revealed that Resident Evil 7 will not feature any online mode, as the developers’ focus is horror and the best horror can only be experienced alone.
Resident Evil 7 is not supporting any online modes. So for example, with Resident Evil 5, we focused on cooperative online play, which as well-received. But the key concept of Resident Evil 7 is horror, so from the very beginning, we thought that playing alone will give the best horror experience.
While Resident Evil 7 will be playable in PlayStation VR, but the game will be an one year exclusive to PS VR before it will be available for other VR headsets.
Resident Evil 7 is a survival horror game-in-development at Capcom, and the game is expected to launch in January 2017 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
