Eve Online developer, CCP Games, is cracking down against the video game gambling sites that use assets from their MMO game Eve Online.

The developer has taken action against IWantISK and EVE Casino, which are the largest websites offering Eve Online-related gambling. According to CCP Games, IWantISK was involved in real money gambling on a large scale and also the developer has confiscated all the items and currency. Also those players who were involved have also been permanently banned.

Furthermore, CCP Games has issued a warning to all gambling sites to shut down their operations before November 8, or they will share the same fate as IWantISK.

CCP Games has also updated its licence agreement as ppart of its crackdown ahead of making Eve Online a free-to-play game. The developers has stressed that their game’s assets can’t be used for gambling.

In short, this addition to the Eve Online EULA means that as of the launch of Eve Online: Ascension, players will be prohibited from using in game assets and currency, as well as the Eve IP, to take part in or promote gambling services or other games of chance that are operated by third parties.

The updated EULA will come in effect on November 8, 2016 with the launch of Eve Online: Ascension.

However, the IWantISK straight up denied that it was involved with trading in real money, and has threatened that it would pursue legal action against CCP Games.

We are also being falsely accused of RMT and if we cannot recover your ISK for you, we will pursue this legally as we have already found grounds.

Recently, Washington State Gambling Commission had issued a direct order to Valve to take necessary steps to stop gambling activities involving steam, otherwise Steam trade API client may shut down.
