PSVR Won’t Slow Down PS4 Performance, Sony says
PlayStation VR is ready to make its debut worldwide, with a bunch of interesting games coming as well. A lot has been told about this device, but Sony said PSVR won’t slow down PS4 performance.
The topic came out during Sony’s latest Q&A and here you can find the answer.
Q: Will standard PS4 games run slower if I leave the PS VR headset plugged in?
No. There is no gameplay performance penalty with leaving PS VR plugged into your PS4.
So don’t worry if you easily forget about doing things, nothing will happen if you let the VR plugged in.
However, a lot of people have been demanding a PS VR port for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored. Gamesradar talked to Arkane Studios’ level designer Christophe Carrier and he answered there is no plans right now for Dishonored VR.
It would be a dream for a level designer like me.
A lot of Dishonored features are ready to be taken to VR very quickly and the result would be very good. However this virtual experience would have some limits. For example, you could only use Blink to teleport and move. Morover the players couldn’t use all the fatalities because of the motion sickness.
When I think about Dishonored VR, I think of being in a room like the Clockwork Mansion. It would be amazing to have the chance to touch these things because they are very beautiful and unique. Anyway I don’t think that Dishonored could be ported on VR at the moment.
Well, you can still cross your fingers and hope for Arkane Studios to release this game for VR.
PlayStation VR is scheduled to release on October 13, 2016.
