There is a wide variety of weapons available in the game. From close-range Gnasher to long-range Longshot, there is something for every situation. Having an understanding of which weapon to use in a certain situation goes a long way in the game.

These weapons are rare, but extremely potent. You can blind fire these weapons, but at the cost of accuracy. You must equip the weapon in order to use it – there is no way to reload them or keep them as secondary.
This weapon shoots buzz saws which ricochet around the area until they hit a target. The weapon is great when used at choke points, busy corridors and can damage enemies behind cover. In versus; the weapon is acquired from Impact, Reclaimed, Relic and in Horde; it is acquired from Level 3 Fabricator and Scion Buzzkill.
This weapon has great rate of fire, but suffers from poor accuracy. Moreover, it requires a little prep-time which leaves you vulnerable. Due to this, you need to prep it behind cover and then come out.
There is no reloading, but the weapon gets overheated after extensive use. Keeping all these things in mind, you need to fire it in short bursts to maintain accuracy and prevent it from overheating. In versus; the weapon is acquired from Lift, Relic and in Horde; it is acquired from Level 3 Fabricator and Scion Mulcher.
RL-4 Salvo has 20 rockets which deal significant amount of damage and explode on impact. Once you have utilized all 20 rockets, the weapon disappears. Try to avoid using it in narrow corridors because the explosion can damage you as well.
It is good to clear out enemies grouped up together or to dish out damage to enemies hiding behind cover. This weapon is only available in Horde and acquired from sentinels, Level 3 Fabricator, and as an Air Drop.
This weapon has limited ammunition, great rate-of-fire, can be blind-fired, can overheat, and requires a little prep-time. It is recommended that you mount it before using and fire it in quick succession to maintain the accuracy. In versus, this weapon is acquired from Reclaimed and in Horde; it is acquired by Level 3 Fabricator and Guardian.
Your trusty side-arm can save you from a lot of tough situations, especially if your primary weapon needs reloading. You always have Snub Pistol, but you can replace it with Boltok.
You always need to use this pistol as the last resort and at close-range when your primary weapon needs reloading. You need to try to fire it rapidly to deal some decent amount of damage.
This weapon is much better than Snub Pistol in terms of raw damage output and range. Try to weaken an enemy with your primary weapon and then finish them off with a headshot from Boltok for extra style points.
These are go-to weapons in the game because of their mid-to-long range power. When using the weapons, you need to pay special attention to enemies running the likes of Longshot.
This 3-round burst weapon is easily one of the most accurate Assault Rifles in the game. Thanks to its good range, you can even go out to counter Longshot using this weapon. In Horde Mode, the weapon is acquired from Level 2 Fabricator and Swarm Drone.
This weapon excels at short-to-mid range, but begins to fall off as you continue to use it long range. Thanks to its clip size, you can use it to provide suppression fire for your teammates to move into a better position. The real strength of Lancer lies in the chainsaw attached to it which can easily cut down enemies.
If both you and enemy hits the chainsaw at the same time, you will need to repeatedly press B button in order to win the duel. In Horde Mode, the weapon is acquired from Level 2 Fabricator and Swarm Drone Elite.
This weapon is exactly like the Standard Lancer, but with increased damage output and decreased rate-of-fire. Due to this, it is not recommended to use the weapon at close-range. In order to counter that, the weapon has a devastating melee attack which can easily cut down any enemy in its path. The weapon is acquired from Level 2 Fabricator in Horde Mode.
There is only one weapon in Gears of War 4 that falls into this category. The weapon has very decent rate-of-fire, making it one of the best weapons to use in close-quarter combat.
Although it does not match the shotgun when it comes to raw damage output, it is still a great weapon for close-quarter combat. If you are able to score headshots, you should be more than fine.
It goes without saying that shotguns are extremely lethal at close-range. However, you should try to equip them with a medium-range weapon for maximum efficiency.
This weapon has decent accuracy at close-to-medium range and insane amount of damage, especially at close range. The weapon can easily beat Enforcer every single time and should be equipped when walking through enclosed spaces. In Horde Mode, it can be acquired from Level 2 Fabricator, Swarm Drone Elite, and Swarm Grenadier.
This is a new shotgun in Gears of War 4 and has more range than Gnasher. Other than that, there are no major differences. You can get it from Level 2 Fabricator and DR-1 Protector in Horde Mode.
Those of you who like to sit back and eliminate enemies from a distance will definitely enjoy playing with these weapons.
Using EMBAR is not easy, but once you get a hang of it, you become unstoppable! In order to use the weapon, you basically need to hold down the fire button and wait until the cross-hair transforms into diamond-shape. Once it does, you have a brief moment to fire the weapon before it overheats, forcing you to repeat the entire process all over again.
The weapon can easily kill enemies with a single headshot and can even stun them for a short duration of time with Perfect Active Reloads.
This weapon can easily kill most of the enemies with a single headshot and therefore, requires insane amount of accuracy. Moreover, the weapon can only hold a single bullet at any given time which is why you should definitely practice Active Reloads on it.
This weapon does not have a scope, making it a tad difficult to land your shots accurately. But if you are able to do so, this weapon can finish off a target with a couple of accurate headshots. And even if you are unable to land headshots, you should be able to do well with body hits. The weapon is acquired from Level 2 Fabricator.
