Legend of Zelda Amiibo Lineup Preorders Open In UK
Earlier this week, Amazon UK opened up pre orders for a new range of Legend of Zelda amiibo and now the official Nintendo UK store has followed them and opened up pre orders ahead of the planned December launch.
The new Legend of Zelda amiibo series pays homage to the franchise through the multiple different designs of Link in the lineup. The full series contains 4 amiibo, one of them featuring Princess Zelda from The Wind Walker while the other three focus on Link.
One of the Link amiibo is actually modeled after the character design from the very first NES Legend of Zelda game in all its 8-bit pixel-y glory. Another amiibo is modeled after Link from The Wind Walker while the final one features Link’s design from Ocarina of Time.
Both, the Amazon UK and Nintendo UK, stores have each amiibo priced at £10.99 however the Nintendo UK store only allows one purchase per customer so those interested in buying extras for friends or family won’t be able to do it through the Nintendo store.
This new Legend of Zelda amiibo series is launched as part of the 30th Anniversary celebration of the franchise. Each amiibo will also unlock content for the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U and Nintendo NX when the game releases next year.
The pre orders are currently only available through the UK stores and it is unclear when they will be begin on the US ones. Considering that the amiibo lineup is scheduled to launch on 2nd December, hopefully US customers will be able to place their orders soon.
Last week, rumors began that Breath of the Wild might not be a launch title for Nintendo NX and might get delayed so those interested in accessing their amiibo content in the upcoming game might have to wait a bit longer.
