New Battleborn Competitive Mode Announced, Coming in October
Battleborn has always been considered the “unlucky” cousin of Overwatch and even with the rumors claiming it was going to free to play, players never showed so much interest to this game. Anyway 2K and Gearbox Software are still trying to make it to the top, as they officially announced a new Battleborn competitive mode called Face-off coming in October.
This Battleborn competitive mode will see teams of five players fighting each other with killing down Varelsi and connecting masks to reach the 500 points and win.
At the moment we are writing there’s no gameplay or screenshots about it, so we suggest you to stay-tuned to know more details about this mode.
However, as we already quoted, there were rumors around the web claiming that Battleborn was going to free to play. This rumor didn’t really shock the players, but the Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford stated that these rumors were false.
I was just told about a strange story about Battleborn going F2P that is false. There are no plans to convert the Battleborn game to free to play.
After that, Pitchford wanted to reveal what Gearbox had in mind for Battleborn. He told the press that this game was going to receive a free trial which should encourage the players to join them on “the dark side of the shooters”.
We have some unannounced plans to make a trial version of the game that would be free and from which retail can be purchased along with DLC. But this thing is months away. Expect great continued support and awesome line up of DLC.
