New Xbox One Update Now Live For Preview Members, Brings New Features For Xbox Live And More
Last month Microsoft rolled out Clubs and Looking For group on Xbox Live for the preview members, now Microsoft is including more features for the preview members through a new Xbox One update. These new features include Arena on Xbox Live, Achievement Rarity and more.
This new Xbox One update was announced by Major Nelson through his official blog. Now lets see what this update will offer.
Now this Xbox One update will feature Arena For Xbox Live for Killer Instinct. Players will be able to compete with other players in daily Killer Instinct tournaments across Xbox One and the Xbox app, which is currently in beta for Windows 10.
Arena will only be available for the preview members, and also with plans to “add additional features and expand to the broader Preview audience later in October”.
Arena launches to Preview on Xbox One with the pilot title and legendary fighting game, Killer Instinct. During Preview, you can look forward to competing in daily Killer Instinct tournaments across Xbox One and the Xbox app (beta) on Windows 10 PC. For the initial roll out, Arena will only be accessible to Preview members through practice tournaments on Xbox One in the U.S., with plans to add additional features and expand to the broader Preview audience later in October. To start competing, all you have to do is register on the Tournament tab in the Killer Instinct Game Hub. We’re really excited about the potential of Arena and eager to hear your thoughts as we evolve it and make eSports more accessible for gamers everywhere, regardless of skill-level.
Next feature this Xbox One update adds is the Achievement Rarity, which has been added after listening to the fan feedback. Now players will be able to find out that how rare their achievement is among their friends, also the rare achievements will have a unique notification and a diamond icon.
The update also adds new features to Looking for Group (LFG). Now players will be able to create posts for LFG, up to seven days in advance, and players will be able to control who sees their posts. “When creating LFG posts, you can also note what language the party will be speaking and filter your LFG searches based on the language”.
Another feature this Xbox One update adds is the Group Messaging on Xbox Live, which will help users to coordinate and keep in touch with their friends and other gamers by sending a single message to the whole group. This feature will soon be available for Xbox app on iOS and Android.
Again, these features are only available for the preview members, but don’t worry as these features will soon be available for all Xbox One owners later this year. Also Microsoft has announced that more updates to Preview will be added in the coming weeks.
