Report: Xbox One S Sales Sky Rocketed Almost 1000% In UK

Sony has dominated the current console generation almost from the start, but, things are now turning since the launch of Xbox One S, at least in UK.

We know that Sony has dominated the current console generation almost from the start. However, things are now turning in the favor of Microsoft since the launch of Xbox One S, at least in UK.

According to a report from MCV, the slim console has stormed the UK market, and the release of Xbox One S 500 GB and 1 TB versions of the console saw the rise of 989 per cent week-on-week for Microsoft’s console.

According to the report, Microsoft had 71 percent of the market share for the week ending September 24th, and this is an increase of 76 percent year on year.

Microsoft’s main competitor, Sony, released PlayStation 4 Slim earlier this month, but the sales have been slow. According to the report, PlayStation 4 only had a market share of 19 percent for the past week, and the sales have been declining 66 percent year-on-year. But on the flip side, sales are up 22 percent week-on-week.

The report also states that, when the launch weeks for both PlayStation 4 Slim and Xbox One S are compared, Microsoft’s sales are 361 percent stronger. There is a possibility that PlayStation 4 Slim sales are down because consumers are holding back and waiting for PlayStation 4 Slim to release this November.

If PlayStation 4 Slim and Xbox One S are compared, technically Microsoft’s console offer a number of upgrades over Sony’s console such 4K Blu-ray support.

Microsoft also launched a Xbox One S 2 TB which was a limited release, and the stock for the console quickly vanished and it does not seem that Microsoft is planning to restock.

FIFA 17 has just been released, and there are Xbox One S FIFA 17 bundles available. According to Xbox UK marketing boss Harvey Eagle, Xbox One S FIFA 17 are quite popular among consumers and also standard Xbox One S since its launch.

It’s great to see how popular both the Xbox One S and the FIFA 17 Xbox One S consoles are with fans, not just over the last week but since the Xbox One S was released in August. 4K video streaming and 4K UHD Blu-ray have been extremely well received and we believe there is no better value right now for those looking to upgrade their console,” Xbox UK marketing boss Harvey Eagle told MCV.

He further added that there has been no better time to own an Xbox One S as games like Gears Of War 4, Skyrim Special Edition are about to release.

It’s a fantastic time for gamers with the range of upcoming titles appealing to all audiences, from Gears of War 4 to Skyrim Special Edition and the release this week of the acclaimed Forza Horizon 3. There’s never been a better time to own an Xbox One.
