Gears Of War 4 Has Gone Gold, Phil Spencer Is “Very Proud” Of The Coalition
Gears Of War 4 is less than a month away from its worldwide launch for PC and Xbox One, and Microsoft is gearing up its marketing efforts to keep the hype going for the game. If the release of the gameplay launch trailer for Gears Of War 4 was not indication enough, then The Coalition has announced that Gears Of War 4 has gone gold.
Now, the development on Gears Of War 4 has been completed and Microsoft will start working on the physical discs for the game.
According to head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, he is very proud of The Coalition due to what they have done with the game. It is the most technically ambitious game yet for Xbox One.
With Gears of War 4, I’m very proud of what the team at The Coalition has achieved. Not only is it the most technically ambitious Gears game yet – with split-screen play on both Xbox and Windows 10, Xbox Play Anywhere support, Cross Play across all co-op modes, and available 4K graphics – it’s a return to the grounded, tense and brutal tone that made so many fall in love with this universe, story and characters for the first time.
While the split screen functionality for Gears Of War 4 will be supported for Xbox One, The Coalition has announced that it will also be available for PC version too.
According to Technical director Mike Rayner, bringing the split screen to Gears of War 4 PC was not an easy task given that there are many things to consider like resolution and aspect ratio.
Also, the developer has also announced that the PC version of the game will not support HDR but the Xbox One S version of the game will.
According to The Coalition, GPUs are just starting to incorporate HDR technology. Also, there aren’t many 4K plus HDR supported monitors available on PC.
Gears Of War 4 is scheduled to launch on October 11 for PC and Xbox One.
