Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered May End Up Being Sold Separately
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is bundled with all of the special editions of Infinite Warfare. However, a better part of the community would like to buy the game separately and not spend money on Infinite Warfare right away.
Activision and Infinity Ward are yet to announce anything related to Modern Warfare selling as a standalone. However, Raven Software’s David Pellas may have leaked the publisher’s plans to release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered separately.
What we announced before today was that we were going to offer 10 maps on launch, and that’s still true. The announcement today is that the six remaining maps we are actually going to be delivering to anyone who purchases Modern Warfare Remastered, anyone who owns it or a version of Infinite Warfare that comes with it, they’re going to get all 16 of the maps for no additional cost
The statement has a specific distinction between Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. It suggests that we may get to buy the game separately from Infinite Warfare.
For now, the most popular edition of the game is the Legacy Edition which comes with Modern Warfare Remastered. For $80, players can grab both games.
Even if Activision plans to sell it on its own we doubt the company will do it before the release of Infinite Warfare. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is being used as a major incentive for Infinite Warfare. Activision will not drop it before its release.
Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered are coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4.
