NieR: Automata Demo Announced at TGS 2016, Releases at the End of 2016
A new demo for the upcoming NieR: Automata is in the works, Square Enix announced during Tokyo Game Show 2016 media briefing.
The studio also confirmed that fans will be able to try out the demo sometime by the end of 2016.
NieR: Automata Demo Confirmed
Prior to the announcement, the game’s producer Yosuke Saito mentioned that he wanted fans to properly experience the game with a demo being about 30-40 minutes long. Going by this, fans can definitely root for an extensive NieR Automata demo headed their way:
“I want users to properly experience NieR: Automata with a demo of a 30-to-40 minute, sit-down-and-play kind of volume.”
Sadly, Square Enix did not mention a solid release window, but expect it somewhere around the holiday season.
NieR Automata is the sequel to action-RPG NieR and a semi-sequel to the first Drakengard game. Although both earlier games were developed by Cavia, NieR: Automata is being developed by Platinum Games who are known for games like Bayonetta 1 & 2, Wonderful 101, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
NieR: Automata is scheduled to release on Feb. 23, 2017 for Playstation 4 in Japan. As for European and North American release dates, we have nothing concrete, but the developer is targeting Early 2017 for both PC and Playstation 4.
