Valve is really pushing for fair play in Counter Strike: Go as the company banned 11,000 players in one day. According to data we obtained from SteamDB, Valve banned a massive ammount of players in 24 hours.

Players who were banned were either cheaters, hackers, or used offensive language repeatedly. Valve VAC system is aggressively banning players which is a good thing for fair play and will improve the experience for the rest of us. However, we hope VAC is banning players a little too aggressively which may result in unfair bans.

According to Valve:

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modifications to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game’s core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

Players who are banned can still play on non VAC-secured game servers in Counter Strike: GO. In order to look for Non-VAC servers, open the Steam main menu and click on View, select Servers, then select Not secure in the Anti-cheat dropdown.

Ever since the release of Counter Strike Global Offensive, numerous complaints have been filed against cheaters and hackers. VAC has been in place for a long time but it is only now we are seeing it really take charge.

The game is still infested with such gamers and it will always be due to the nature of its gameplay. But VAC may finally be in a position to keep hackers in control at least.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is available on PC.
