According to Blizzard, World of Warcraft: Legion has been positively received by the fans and the concurrent player count is more than ever before.

It goes without saying that every new expansion draws both new/old players to the game, but with World of Warcraft: Legion, things are looking better than ever before – as noted by Blizzard during a panel at PAX West 2016g

We knew this expansion was going to be something for the books, but reception has just blown us away. The early reviews are coming in, they’re really positive. Fan reception has been phenomenal.

Blizzard further noted that it had to double and triple check the number of concurrent players because they have been highest in recent memory – in several years in fact:

Concurrency – we’ve had to check and triple check our numbers, because it’s the highest they’ve been in recent memory. Several years, for sure.

In relevant World of Warcraft: Legion news, Blizzard has shared a new video preview of the upcoming major update titled Patch 7.1: Return to Karazhan. While there is no fixed rollout date, the expansion is confirmed to bring a 5-man Mythical-dungeon, Suramar quests, world content, new enemies, and some familiar faces.
