Destiny Update 2.4.0 Launches Next Week, Brings Changes To Sterling Treasures

As the launch for Destiny Rise of Iron is geting closer, Bungie is gearing up its efforts for a smooth launch. Bungie has announced that next week a new Destiny update 2.4.0 will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which will bring some changes.

Bungie has announced that Destiny update 2.4.0 will be available on September 8, 2016, also on the same date server maintenance will also take place from 8:00 AM through 4:00 PM PDT. When the server maintenance is concluded players will be able to download the Destiny update 2.4.0.

Also during the the server downtime the functionality for and Destiny Companion App will be limited. Once the server maintenance is done the patch notes for update 2.4.0 will be released on game updates page.

Bungie has also announced that before downloading Destiny update 2.4.0, make sure the following steps have been followed.

  • Please ensure that you have the proper amount of space available to accept Update 2.4.0.
  • Interrupting downloads may force all previous content to be re-downloaded on some consoles.
  • Some consoles will attempt to verify all previously downloaded content before downloading Update 2.4.0. If any issues are found, or the verification process is interrupted, all previous content will be deleted and downloaded once more.

The update 2.4.0 will also bring changes to how players acquire sterling treasures. According to Bungie after update 2.4.0 is installed players will only acquire sterling treasures once a week. Also once Destiny Rise Of Iron is launched the Eververse Trading Co. will no longer sell Sterling Treasures for silver, as they will be replaced with Radiant Treasures.

On September 20th 2016, with the launch of Destiny: Rise of Iron, the Eververse Trading Co. will no longer sell Sterling Treasure for Silver. Sterling Treasure will be replaced with Radiant Treasures, which contain Silver Dust, and all new Ornaments.

Destiny is a multiplayer first person shooter developed by Bungie for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
