Nvidia Vault 1080 Mod Ups Fallout 4 Graphics, Makes Wasteland Pretty
As if a new graphics driver wasn’t enough, an Nvidia Vault 1080 mod has been announced for Fallout 4, and will help to beautify the Commonwealth’s wasteland…or rather, as much as it can be beautified. Nvidia announced the mod today in a trailer posted to its official YouTube page, which showed everything the mod would do.
Fallout 4 is already a fairly pretty-looking game to begin with, and various mods that have been released in the months since it came out in November of last year have likely only done more to up the graphics.
The Nvidia Vault 1080 mod intends to assist with this by adding in super-advanced lighting, new shadows, and more, along with at least an hour of new content (though Nvidia’s video was mum on what exactly the new content will be.)
Nvidia hasn’t given out any word over whether or not the new mod will be available for Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles in addition to PC, but we’ll likely find out more when the mod is officially debuted at PAX West, which will be starting on Friday, September 2.
Considering that at this year’s E3 Bethesda announced a remastered version of Skyrim with better graphics, lighting, and a host of other new graphical features, the Nvidia Vault 1080 mod is the next logical step by upping some of the graphical qualities of Fallout 4.
All of the new lighting that would be coming with the mod could also help up the immersion factor in the game, with warning lights spinning around and light coming through windows, rather than going with the normal “bright rectangle” way that lighting normally goes.
Either way, we’ll have to wait until PAX West starts to see Nvidia’s new mod in action, so if you’re heading to PAX West and are curious about what the mod looks like, try and check it out!
