New Playstation 4 Neo Information Implies Bigger, More Expensive
A sizable amount of new Playstation 4 Neo information has implied that the console will not only be bigger than the vanilla Playstation 4, but also more expensive. The Neo was finally confirmed to exist in an interview several months ago, but we haven’t had any real release date announced yet.
With all of the new Playstation 4 Neo information coming out, we can make a few assumptions related to the console, though there are also a number of things that we still don’t know about it. Artist Peter Segura, for instance, created a draft mock-up of the console based on a sketch (which you can see above) from a former Foxconn employee. Said Foxconn employee has even said that the mock-up drawing was fairly accurate, but for the button positions.
Foxconn is a Taiwanese company that is known most for manufacturing a wide variety of electronics, including video game consoles, phones, and tablets.
If the design document is true, then the Playstation 4 Neo is a great deal larger and heavier than the regular Playstation 4. Considering that it’s designed to run games and video in 4K resolution, that’s probably a given, but how will that size match up along with its price?
Much like the Xbox One Scorpio, it’s likely that the Playstation 4 Neo will be a premium product, and as such will cost much more than a regular Playstation 4. It’s likely that the console will maybe cost somewhere in the area of five hundred dollars (in the United States, at least) but we won’t really know until the console is officially announced.
All of this new Playstation 4 Neo information will be coming from the Playstation Meeting which is scheduled to be held in New York on September 7.
We’ll likely be seeing all of the details on both the Playstation 4 Slim and the Playstation 4 Neo, which will allow us to see the prices and size of the consoles.
