Report: PlayStation 4 Slim Will Have 5 GHz WiFi Band Support

Leaks and rumors are nothing new to game industry, and recently PlayStation 4 Slim has leaked on the internet, which is speculated to be officially revealed at PlayStation Meeting. Sony has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of PlayStation 4 Slim, however, rumors about this console keep popping up on the internet.

Now a new report has emerged the suggests PlayStation 4 Slim will have 5 GHz WiFi support. One of the main issue with the original PlayStation 4 was the lack of 5 GHz support for the console’s WiFi module, but it seems that it is changing soon.

According to a Twiiter user, shortman82, who purchased one of the leaked PlayStation 4 Slim units, posted images of the console’s manual and UI. The manual clearly sates that the console features 2.4/5 GHz ranges for WiFi module.

However, the console’s UI stated that WiFi frequency band in use in 2.4 GHz, that is because that is the band shortman82 is using.

While it is certainly good to see that PlayStation 4 Slim will support 5 GHz WiFi band, however, Sony has not yet officially conformed it. So take it as a grain of salt.

In other news, recently a U.K based used goods retailer, listed the price for the upcoming PlayStation 4 Slim. According to the retailer the PS4 Slim price is listed at £380.
