In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Pathologic Remake Has Been Delayed To 2017
Pathologic is the remake of the of a ruthless and critically acclaimed Russian survival adventure game from 2005. The kickstarter for the game started in 2014 and it was successful. However, those who have been following the progress of Pathologic remake or backed it, well there is good and a bad news.
The good new is the Pathologic remake has been listed on Steam, however, the bad news is the the game has been delayed. According to developers, the original release date for the game was set for the basic scope of the game. While the game has been successfully kickstarted, but the scope of the game has also increased.
The original plans for the release date were set with the basic scope of the game in mind. It seems a bit immodest to admit, but we did include our first stretch goal, the Town Expanded, into that; but not the rest of them. The game has grown in scope now, so developing it properly requires additional time.
The Ice-Pick Lodge explained that the vision they had for the game has changed a lot during the development. The game that started as a mere re-imagining turned into ta full fledged project. The developer has assured that Pathologic remake is faithful to the original and also a new game in many aspects.
According to developers only two things can happen now, either they release an unfinished game or take some more time to deliver a best game.
Look at it this way: we can either mar our conscience by missing the deadline in a rather spectacular fashion, or by releasing a game that falls short on its promises. But only one of these outcomes leaves everybody with a good game in their library in the end.
Pathologic remake is in development at Ice-Pick Lodge and will be available for Microsoft Windows, Linux, MAC OS, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
